Boccadasse

A BOUQUET OF COLORFUL HOUSES

A stone’s throw from the center is the ancient seaside village of Boccadasse, which with its pastel-colored houses, leaning against each other and narrow around a small bay, has remained almost unchanged over time. Boccadasse is among the most iconic places in Genoa and among the most loved by the Genoese and not only...you will love it!

HOW TO GO

The best and most evocative way is certainly to take a quiet walk of about two and a half kilometers along Corso Italia the promenade of Genoa, dotted with bars and beach clubs. Along the promenade there are interesting buildings: the church of San Pietro, the fort San Giuliano, the abbey of San Giuliano, the bathing establishment of the New Lido that in the fifties was known for the selections of Miss Italy and consecrated Miss Lido Sophia Loren, and the church of Sant'Antonio in Boccadasse.
Alternatively you can use public transport or tourist buses.

WHAT TO SEE

The Church of Sant'Antonio da Padova, characterized by a polychrome marble floor and where there are many votive offerings related to the dramas of the seafarers. At the back of the church there is a panoramic square dedicated to the poet Edoardo Firpo from which you can enjoy the panorama of the underlying seaside village. From here you can access the village, through a staircase or along the Via Aurora, a typical Ligurian "crêuza".

NOT TO BE MISSED

The ancient Gelateria Amedeo is absolutely a must in Boccadasse.
Put yourself patiently in the queue, I assure you that you will not regret it.
But in addition to enjoying a delicious ice cream you can enjoy a brunch on the beach, an aperitif at sunset or a dinner overlooking the cliff, the choice is yours.
