Nervi

A VILLAGE IN THE CITY

Continuing beyond Boccadasse, skirting the sea and passing through the neighborhoods of Sturla, Quarto (here stands the monument dedicated "Ai Mille"), where descending the steps you can stop for a swim or an aperitif at the Monu Cafè , a truly evocative cliff-side eatery, and Quinto, you arrive at the neighborhood of Nervi, the elegant and ancient seaside village that borders the city. Starting from the quaint Porticciolo, the neighborhood overlooks the cliff along which runs the two-kilometer-long clifftop terrace dedicated to Anita Garibaldi, a romantic and picturesque promenade dotted with bathing establishments that are also excellent restaurants and places to have an aperitif on the rocks and enchant yourself admiring the Genoese sunsets.
Here is the city's most elegant green living room, I Parchi di Nervi , the large green area, which can be accessed either from the promenade or from the center of the district, is home to a hundred botanical species including palms and cedars, and five trees of monumental interest, the Luigi Viacava Rose Garden, which boasts the presence of more than 200 varieties of spectacular plants, valuable museums of modern and contemporary art set up inside the many historic villas.
